What is Shramyogi Shikshan Sahay Yojana?

To enable the children of needy construction workers in the state to pursue higher studies and education so that their children can also become doctors or engineers, the Gujarat Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board has started this scheme to provide education assistance.

The state government has implemented various schemes for the welfare of workers. To give workers a unique identity and to make it easier for them to get assistance, e-Nirman Card and e-Shram Card have also been provided. Moreover, to simplify the application process for schemes, the “Sanman Portal” has been started, through which workers can apply for the schemes they are eligible for and interested in availing.

Rules and Conditions to Avail Benefits of Shramyogi Shikshan Sahay Yojana

The Gujarat Shramyogi Kalyan Board has set some rules and conditions to avail the benefits of this scheme, as below:

• The applicant must be a construction worker to avail benefits under this scheme.
• Eligible construction workers must apply online within the stipulated time.
• Only two children of the applicant will get this assistance.
• If the applicant has two children, separate online forms must be filled for each child.
• The age of children should be a maximum of 30 years.
• If the applicant’s son or daughter is mute or disabled (Divyang), the age limit will not apply.
• This benefit will be limited to the first trial in each academic year.
• If the student fails the class, assistance will not be available again for the same class or standard in that year.
• Students studying in open universities will not get assistance under this scheme.
• Complete and correct information must be filled while submitting the online form, else the application may be rejected.

Benefits Available Under Shramyogi Shikshan Sahay Yojana

Children of construction workers will be provided assistance up to ₹30,000 for studies starting from primary school up to higher education (Ph.D.).

Documents Required to Avail Benefits of Shramyogi Shikshan Sahay Yojana

The following documents are required to avail benefits under this scheme:

• Copy of Aadhaar Card
• Student’s current course bonafide certificate
• Bank passbook
• Student’s last year’s result
• Fee receipt of school or college
• If assistance is ₹5000 or more, an affidavit and consent form must be filled

How to Apply Online for Shramyogi Shikshan Sahay Yojana?

Citizens of the state can apply online for this scheme as follows:

• Applicants can apply online by visiting https://sanman.gujarat.gov.in/
• First, registration must be done, after which an ID and password will be received.
• In registration, details of the construction worker must be filled, and click on the Create button.
• Then log in using the ID and password.
• Click on Education Assistance/Ph.D. Scheme.
• Information and rules about the scheme will be displayed, read them and click on the Accept button.
• Then click on the Apply button.
• Fill in Personal Details including worker ID card details, student information, and address, then click Save.
• Next, fill in Scheme Details with course details.
• Then upload documents. (Note: Xerox copies must be self-attested before uploading and size should be within 1 MB.)
• After uploading all required documents, read the rules.
• Select “I agree with all the above terms and conditions” and click Save.
• Finally, your application will be submitted and an application number will be generated, which should be kept safe.
